Luke A. Turnock, PhD, is a research sociologist specialising in ethnography, who has conducted research into gym subcultures in the South and South-West of England, and digital ethnographies of online ‘fitness’ and bodybuilding forums, with a focus on IPED access and supply. His Doctoral thesis explored the normalisation of IPEDs in British gym environments, examining motivations for use, subcultural ethnopharmacologies, and norms of access and supply.
