About HEDN
The Human Enhancement Drugs Network (HEDN) supports members in studying and researching in the growing field of human enhancement drugs. As a network, HEDN serves to connect and strengthen the relationship between key stakeholders, including academics, practitioners, and government and industry partners. Our members are interested in learning about a range of human enhancement drugs, such as muscle drugs, weight-loss drugs, image enhancing drugs, sex drugs and aphrodisiacs, cognitive enhancers, and mood and behaviour enhancers.
Aims
Ultimately, the aims of the Human Enhancement Drugs Network are to:
- Unite cross-disciplinary international scholars and other stakeholders with (research) interests in human enhancement drugs;
- Promote and organise events and facilitate collegial alliances and collaborations to allow for the sharing of knowledge and research for engagement and impact;
- Provide opportunities for post-graduate and early career researchers to connect with leading scholars as well as disseminate their own work;
- Produce valuable evidence-based information to inform policy around the use of human enhancement drugs; and
- Heighten international scholarly, practitioner and community awareness of the study of human enhancement drugs.
The things we do
To this end, the Human Enhancement Drugs Network publishes a semi-annual newsletter, HED Matters, and organizes conference panels, special issues of academic journals, and various workshops and symposia. We invite interested individuals to get in touch with us on Twitter, Facebook, or by becoming a member of the Human Enhancement Drugs Network.
