PIED Workshop for Health Professionals

HEDN offers training for health professionals in relation to the use (and supply) of anabolic-androgenic steroids and other performance and image enhancing drugs (PIEDs) by fitness/gym-goers, bodybuilders and other recreational athletes, and in relation to doping substance and supplement use within professional sports.

We have given over eight workshops to <210 health professionals in Australia and the United Kingdom. The workshops on average receive a 4.9 out of 5 stars. They generally last between 1-2 hour(s).

The workshop is adjusted based on the needs of the organization and the target audience. An example of a workshop program provided to the staff of a needle and syringe program (NSP) is:

  • General info on PIEDs (beginners or expert level);
  • Steroids and routes of administration;
  • Discussing specific topic in detail – based on need (e.g. body image, use in prisons, harm minimization, prevention, etc.); and
  • PIED case studies (based on real examples).

Please contact Dr Katinka van de Ven for more information or if you would like to discuss creative options to work together. We are happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
