Giuseppe Bersani is Professor of Psychiatry, Department of Medico-Surgical Sciences and Biotechnologies, at both the Degree Courses of Medicine of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine of Sapienza University of Rome. He has been for about ten years Head of the Clinical Psychiatry Unit at the Policlinico “Umberto I” inRome and he is currently Head of the University Psychiatry Unit at the Polo Pontino / Terracina Hospital.

Eduardo Cinosi, MD, graduated from “G. d’Annunzio” University Medical School in 2010, with a score of 110 out of 110 “summa cum laude”. He was admitted to Specialization School in Psychiatry in June 2011, classified 1st, and has just begun his last year of training in Psychiatry. He has earned a II Level Master in Diagnosis and Treatment of Eating Disorders (2011-2011) and he regularly attends Academic lectures as well as more than 40 National and International relevant conferences, workshops, seminars in Psychiatry and Neuroscience. He has published several scientific articles, book chapters and presented many posters in National and International Congresses. During the last two years of traineeship he has spent several months at the University of Hertfordshire (United Kingdom) conducting research on Novel Psychoactive Substances and Behavioural Addictions; more recently (since November 2014) he has also attended the Highly Specialized Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders Service, HPFT, Rosanne House Parkway, Welwyn Garden City, in attachment with Prof. Naomi Fineberg to further implement his clinical and research experience.

Giovanni Martinotti, MD, PhD

Giovanni Martinotti, MD, PhD is a psychiatrist and Academic Lead of the Research Unit on Addiction at the Department of Neuroscience and Imaging, University “G.d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara. In his career he has developed a strong clinic and academic expertise in the field of substance abuse, as well as other forms of addiction including pathologic gambling and behavioural addictions. He has recently been elected president of the Young Section of the Italian Society of Psychiatry.

Pierluigi Simonato, MD

Pierluigi Simonato, MD, works as Psychiatrist in a Dual Diagnosis Unit located in Padova (Italy), following patients who arrive from all regions of Italy, suffering from psychiatric disturbances and/or substances misuse, including more classic compounds (e.g. cocaine, alcohol) and new dependencies (e.g. NPS, PIEDs, pathological gambling and sex addiction). He graduated in Medicine in Padova (2006) presenting the thesis “Body Dysmorphic Disorder: personality, temperament and clinical scales in an Italian plastic surgery setting” and completed my training as Psychiatrist in 2011 with the thesis “Novel Psychoactive Substances: first results from the ReDNet online survey amongst Italian healthcare professionals”. Presently he is also collaborating with University of Hertfordshire (School of Life and Medical Science) and completing his PhD on the emergence of Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS) and on the need of expanding the awareness of consumption and consequences of these compounds in Health Services.
