Geoff Bates is a Research Associate at the Institute for Policy Research, University of Bath. His research seeks to understand health and social behaviours and considers the use of evidence to inform decision-making and the development of interventions. Geoff is interested in the design, delivery, and evaluation of interventions, services, and policies to minimise the harms associated with image and performance enhancing drug use and to support good health outcomes in those who choose to use these drugs. His work draws on theories and principles of implementation science, evidence-based policymaking, behaviour change, and complex systems. Geoff also conducts research relating to a wide range of public health and public policy issues including healthy urban development, health services, and the use of evidence and science by policymakers
