Jenny Valentish is a journalist who has written extensively about drug use and harm-minimisation, for The Age, the ABC, The Monthly, The Saturday Paper and The Guardian, and in her book Woman of Substances: A Journey Into Addiction and Treatment, which has been added to university reading lists and has seen her regularly invited to deliver keynotes at AOD conferences. She has written about PIEDs for HED Matters (Vol 3, issue 3); Pennington Institute’s Bulletin, and in her non-fiction book Everything Harder Than Everyone Else: Why Some of Us Push Our Bodies to Extremes. She is a board director of SMART Recovery Australia and an ambassador for Monash University’s BrainPark.
