Jules Woolf, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and Sport+Development Lab director in the Department of Recreation, Sport & Tourism, College of Applied Health Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests focus on the nexus between sport and health and the ways in which this may be managed to facilitate positive health outcomes. His previous work on drug use has challenged common assumptions about doping, such as the role model effect of elite athletes on youth and how athletes conceptualize doping. The ultimate objective of his research is to formulate normative models that describe and explain how sport, as an institution, can influence and promote health.
